BUILDER STORY

Greg Wilson was born and raised in Hardin County, TN. He went to elementary school and graduated high school in Savannah. He attended Memphis State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation, Greg worked in the industrial and commercial construction industry for 7 years, specializing in construction estimating and project management. Once Greg and Shannon’s first child was born, they moved back to Savannah. Greg started a small construction company and built his first home in Pickwick. Greg continued to build houses in Pickwick as the sole owner of his company for 21 years.

In 2018, Greg went into business with two younger partners, Thomas “Stephen” Frazier and William “Will” Rasbach. For the last 6 years, we have continued to build homes in and around Hardin County, but mostly in the Pickwick area. The company has grown over the past 27 years. We now have five crew leaders. We manage the construction of our homes with a “logical” approach. We assign a crew leader to each home, and we try our best to allow that crew leader to be there from start to finish. This way one person knows everything there is to know about the project. The five crew leaders are supported by two full-time office employees, Greg & Will. Stephen is one of the 5 crew leaders. Either Greg or Will will prepare a very detailed budget and assist the customer as numerous decisions regarding level of quality have to be made to build a new home. Most of our custom homes are built on a cost-plus fee basis, but we are capable of providing a turnkey price upon request. We provide very detailed invoices to our customers and keep track of all paperwork in a very organized fashion. 

I like to tell my customers “This is your bar-b-que, we are just the cook”. A customer once asked me why he should hire me to build his home over the other builder’s he had interviewed. Here is the best answer I could come up with; “We have messed up everything possible building a home so not only do we know what to do and how to do it, we also know what not to do and the consequences of bad decisions.”
